Best AI tweet generators: how to choose one

The best AI tweet generator depends on your need. For a free one-off draft, use a simple generator with no account. If you already schedule posts, use the AI inside your scheduler. If you want drafts that sound like you, choose a tool that reads your past posts. Whichever you use, read every draft and add a real detail, since generic AI posts rarely get a response.

We make Repli and these free tools, so weigh our view with that in mind. We took other tools' details from their own sites on November 3, 2026, and we didn't run a controlled quality test on them. Try a few using the test below.

General AI chat assistants can also draft posts. They're flexible, but they start from whatever you paste in, so you'll need to supply your voice and your details each time.

What each one offers

Free tools from Repli. Our tweet idea generator, hook generator, reply generator and bio generator need no account. They have a daily limit, and they only know what you type in.

Typefully. AI writing comes with the Creator plan at $99 a year. Its site says it learns how you write.

Tweet Hunter. The AI writer starts on the Grow plan at $49 a month. Enterprise, at $199, lists custom-trained AI and smart AI replies.

SuperX. Plans include AI credits: 750 on Pro, 1,500 on Advanced and 4,000 on Ultra. The AI post and thread writer is on Advanced and up.

Buffer. It includes an AI assistant on all plans, for refining and repurposing posts. Its free plan limits AI reply suggestions to 5 a week.

Repli. It reads your past posts, measures how you write, and rejects drafts that drift or carry common AI habits. It can still miss, and accounts with few posts give it less to learn from. It's $39 a month plus tax after a free first plan.

A five-minute test for any tool

Run the same test on each tool you're considering:

  1. Give it a real topic from your work. Use something you know well.
  2. Read the first three drafts aloud. Would you actually say this?
  3. Look for stock habits. Watch for "game-changer," "in today's fast-paced world," tidy lists of three, and "it's not X, it's Y." Our AI tweet checker gives an opinion.
  4. Look for invented facts. Did it make up a number, a client or a story? Reject that outright.
  5. Count the edits. If you rewrite everything, it isn't saving you any time.

Also check what the tool does beyond writing. See the rules below.

Stay within X's rules

Writing with AI and posting by hand isn't what X's automation rules target. Automating the posting is where it changes:

X's rewards program also makes content "created or posted using automated means" ineligible. So if you want payouts, be careful. There's more in our automation guide.

You're also responsible for what you post, even if a tool wrote it.

How to get better drafts from any tool

Our guide to making AI tweets sound human has before-and-after examples.

What a generator can't do

AI can draft, but it can't have your experience. It won't know what happened on your last project unless you say. The posts most likely to earn a response are specific and true. It also can't do the relationship part, since replies only work when you mean them.

Nothing here can promise you followers. Be wary of any tool that does.

Common questions

Is there a free AI tweet generator?

Yes. Our tweet idea generator and hook generator are free with a daily limit and no account. Buffer also has an AI assistant on its free plan.

Can X tell if a tweet was written by AI?

We don't know of any public method that reliably proves it. But readers often notice stock patterns, and that's the bigger risk. The X policies above focus on automation and deception more than on the writing tool.

Will AI tweets get my account banned?

Writing with AI isn't what X's rules target. Automating replies, spamming or posting misleading content can get you in trouble. Read each draft before you post it.

What's the best AI tool for replies?

Look for one that makes you add something real. Our free reply generator suggests three angles to edit. Avoid anything that posts replies for you.

Next step

Try a real topic in our free idea generator, then run the five-minute test on it. If you want drafts based on your own posts and a plan each morning, your first Repli plan is free, and you post everything by hand. See the demo.
